StoryUNITED EYEING THIRD STRAIGHT LEAGUE WIN

Dutchman Erik Ten Hag and his Manchester United players are eyeing a third straight league win ahead of their Premier League encounter with bottom team Leicester City later this week. Ten Hag and Manchester United are guests of Leicester City in a Premier League duel billed to take place at the King Power Stadium on Thursday night.

Manchester United have done well to bounce back from a disastrous start to the season which saw them lose their first two games. They were beaten 2-1 at home by Brighton and Hove Albion in their first game with two first half goals from German star Pascal Gross, while Alexis Mac Allister (own goal) scored the lone United goal. Manchester United made it two defeats at the start of the season with the 4-0 thrashing received at the hands of West London side Brentford. The likes of Ben Mee, Brian Jensen, Josh Da Silva and Bryan Mbeumo were on target for the Bees during the home clash with Manchester United.

Ten Hag read the riot act to his players ahead of the Liverpool game last week Monday and it paid off as Manchester United ran out 2-1 at home through goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford, while Mohamed Salah was on target for the visitors. The Manchester United manager made some big calls for the Liverpool game as Cristiano Ronaldo and club skipper Harry Maguire were benched. Both Cristiano and Harry Maguire have spent a lot of time on the Manchester United bench since the decision was made. They were also benched for the 1-0 away win over Southampton on Saturday afternoon.

For the next league game at the home of Leicester City, Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Maguire are likely to continue their respective bench roles as the Red Devils try to stay in touch with the top teams.
