Portuguese playmaker Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly keen on Borussia Dortmund star Ousmane Dembele. The French star is highly rated as one of the most exciting youngsters in club football now, and he has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu. He moved to Germany last summer as he preferred regular football to the offers from bigger sides.
After his exploits in Rennes and his display this season in the German Bundesliga, Real Madrid feel he is the right man for them. Reports say Cristiano Ronaldo asked that the club get the 20-year old player as he would add to the firepower at the club.
The team has been heavily reliant on Ronaldo and Karim Benzema of late, the two core attacking players. James Rodriguez has just left to Bayern Munich on loan, whilst Alvaro Morata is being widely tipped to make a move to Chelsea before the transfer window slams shut in September - which all means that Real will be short on pace and power up front unless they bring someone in. Other additions are not impressing as much so a move for Dembele has so many positives.
Dortmund are not obligated to sell the player, and with the likely exit of striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and the change in coach, the team will do all that they can to keep hold of their star striker. Dembele has market value of £75-80 million which is on the high side for Real, but the top players at Santiago Bernebeu such as Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo are encouraging the club to get him. If you look at the latest football betting from William Hill, the home of betting, you can see Dembele is odds on to move this summer - the only question is whether it will be to Barca or Real.
Dembele can play well in the wings, aside playing as a supporting striker. He looks set to be among the best players in the world in a few years so it's no surprise that Real Madrid want him.
It is believed that Ronaldo is also pushing that the club to sign Philippe Coutinho too, with the Mirror claiming that, whilst coach Zinedine Zidane preferred that the club signed a deep lying midfielder like Xavi (which PSG star Marco Verratti linked as he fits the profile perfectly), the Portuguese superstar is asking for more attacking players like the Liverpool attacking midfielder, who is also with the same agency Gestifut.
