Cristiano Ronaldo and his other Portuguese teammates will be hitting on Latvia, in Faro this Sunday with a view to continuing their European World Cup qualifiers campaign.
The current European Champions, after having won the finals of the Euro 2016 competition in a game against France which ended in a 1-0 win, are currently enjoying their status and were on the training ground on Wednesday, displaying their skills for all to see.
Captain of the squad, Cristiano Ronaldo led the team in preparations for the Latvia game which they are expected to win by a comfortable margin.
Portugal's footballers seem to be enjoying their status as European champions as they displayed their skills for all to see at training on Wednesday. Portugal currently holds the second position in Group B of the World Cup qualifiers with a total of six points from two games. They however, lost a game to Switzerland, one which ended in a 2-0 win for the Swiss national team.
The training which featured the likes of former Manchester United teammates, Nani, had him upstage Ronaldo in a game of head tennis. Nani, who currently plies his trade at Valencia, was able to balance the ball on his forehead, thus leading to cheers from fellow teammates.
Porto's striker, Andre Silva was also around and showed off his head control game as well. Silva has scored four goals from four international caps and hopes to start in the game for the Portuguese team.
Fernando Santos, Portugal’s coach was rewarded with a new deal following their impressive performance at the Euro 2016 competition, and is expected to guide his boys to the 2018 World Cup and through.
Cristiano Ronaldo would likely be in the starting XI for the game against Latvia considering his impressive performance at club level for Real Madrid.
