Cristiano Ronaldo is going through what might be considered to be as one of the best periods of his life as he recently lifted the 2016 edition of the Euro’s and this is something that the Portuguese superstar had never accomplished in the entirety of his playing career.
Whilst Real Madrid lost the race for the Spanish League title (with Barcelona won the 2015-16 season) but Ronaldo did help his squad in winning the Champions League as he scored 16 goals in the European competition which was more than any other player.
31 years of age is generally considered to be a fairly elevated age for any player in the world of football but C.Ronaldo has not shown any signs of slowing down as he continues to score goals on a consistent basis and the player himself has unveiled interest in extending his current deal with Real Madrid.
The current contract of Ronaldo sees him remaining with the Spanish club until 2018 but the Portuguese titan is hoping to expand his deal with Real Madrid even further, so that he can play in even more 'El Classicos' against Barcelona - the last one saw all 100,000 tickets sold, with even http://www.livefootballtickets.com struggling to cope with demand from punters to see Messi and Ronaldo live.
“I spoke to the president on the phone and when I get to Madrid, we will talk about it. Obviously it’s something I want, I have mentioned it many times, and the club also wants it. But we only spoke briefly and there will be more concrete things to come.” Real Madrid’s C.Ronaldo said as he hinted out a possible contract renewal.
The Portuguese star played a huge role in 2015/16 for Real Madrid, scoring 16 goals which helped out his club in securing their 11th European title and even if Real Madrid does not reach an agreement with Ronaldo in relation to expanding his current contract, his deal with Real Madrid still sees him remaining at the Santiago Bernabeu at least until 2018 and its highly likely that when his final days with Real Madrid come, he will be hanging up his boots.
There are fans in Manchester who hope that this won't be the case, and there are always the glories and riches of Chinese and American football to be had, but at the moment it looks like Ronaldo will be staying at Real Madrid for the foreseeable future.
