StoryPOGBA, RONALDO REMAIN PSG TARGETS – REPORT

French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) have been active in the transfer market this summer as they bid to reclaim the league title in the French top flight and also win the Champions League title in the new season. PSG lost their league title to Lille and also lost to Manchester City in the semi-finals of the Champions League last season. The French giants had reached the Champions League final in the immediate past season.

PSG have been active in this summer's transfer window as pointed out earlier with moves for players like Dutch midfielder GeorginioWijnaldum, Italian goalkeeper GianlugiDonnaruma and Moroccan international fullback AchraafHakimi. The French giants are not expected to stop with the signings of the three aforementioned players this summer. PSG have been linked with further moves for Spanish international Sergio Ramos, Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Pogba. The report from media outlet Foot Mercatosays that PSG want to add a big name player to their squad this summer and that the French Ligue 1 club wants to take advantage of the contractual situations involving Cristiano Ronaldo and French midfielder Pogba at Juventus and Manchester United respectively. Ronaldo and Pogba both have one year left on their respective contracts.

Juventus have already reiterated their desire to retain the services of Cristiano Ronaldo at the club beyond this summer. It remains to be seen whether the Old Lady will offer him a new contract or risk letting him run down his contract. Just like what's obtainable with Pogba at Manchester United, Ronaldo has one year to run on his contract which expires next summer.

Spanish centre back Ramos has agreed to join PSG on a free transfer this summer according to reports. Ramos could join Wijnaldum and Donnaruma as free transfer signings, while Hakimi will join PSG in a €71m deal in the coming days.
