StoryNO TRANSFER FOR RONALDO

The director of Institutional Relations at Real Madrid, Emilio Butragueno, has denied the speculations that Cristiano Ronaldo will be on his way to Manchester United during the upcoming summer transfer window.

A few days ago, the United manager Sir Alex Ferguson had said that he wanted to bring Ronaldo in the United camp for his second tenure. Since then, there were rumours that Ronaldo might take a transfer this summer.

When asked about Ronaldo’s transfer, Butragueno said, “I don’t think there is anything like that. Neither the club nor Ronaldo wants a transfer this summer. We are glad that he is playing for us. He is an ambitious footballer and his contribution for Real Madrid has been immense.”

“If you look at Ronaldo’s record for Madrid, you will find that he has scored 1 goal per match on aggregate and it is absolutely superb. You can’t expect a player to do more than this for the team. I have been following the game since a long time and I have never seen a player with such an impressive record.”

“At the moment, Transfer issues are not something which we are thinking about. Winning the La Liga and the Champions League are our targets at the moment and we are focussed on that only.”
“Champions League is a very hard tournament to win. We will give our 100% and will hope for the best.”

A few days ago, when Ronaldo himself was asked if he would like to rejoin Manchester United in the future, he had said, “I would first like to finish my contract here at Madrid. I am 100% sure that I would not be leaving Madrid before the 2014-15 season. Once my contract gets finished, then, I will decide about my future.”
