Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho believes that Cristiano Ronaldo is on an another level when it comes to the league of football players.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals in the Champions League match against CSKA Moscow to help Real Madrid to a 4-1 win. It helped Real Madrid seal their passage to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Following the match, manager José Mourinho said that he honestly thought that it would be extremely impossible for Ronaldo to improve on his performances from last season, but the Portuguese winger has been able to do it. So far, Ronaldo has scored 19 goals in just 24 Champions League appearances for Real Madrid.
This is much better than the record he had at Manchester United, although he was highly successful at Manchester United in terms of the number of trophies. Madrid will be in the draw for the quarter-finals on Friday. Real Madrid have the opportunity to play against Barcelona in the quarter-final stage itself.
The players, though, insisted that they would not worry about facing Barcelona in the quarter-finals. Real Madrid lost to Barcelona in the semi-final stage last season, but defender Sergio Ramos has insisted that it has nothing to do with this season's draw.
"Ronaldo is unbelievable. You would have thought with the number of goals he scored last season you couldn't improve, but he is at another level," said Mourinho. "If they advance in the competition and we keep on doing things well we might meet in the final. But if it happens earlier, in the quarters, there will be no problem," Sergio Ramos said.
Real Madrid had a 10 point lead over Barcelona in the league, but it has been recently reduced to just six points after two draws from the Madrid club in recent weeks.
